Certified instructor and Wave Pilates co-owner, Katie Zell, has been practicing
and teaching Pilates for over four years. Having graduated from Stephen F. Austin
State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a degree in Education in 2004, Katie
always knew that teaching was her passion! In 2005, Katie moved from Texas to Florida,
married Danny and realized that Pilates is where her heart is. She has been blessed
with the opportunity to work in a field where she can help others live a healthy
lifestyle…something she has always firmly believed is the key to a happy mind! Challenging
her clients each time they walk in the door with a method that includes thinking
out-of-the-box, Katie loves to take each individual to a level that they never imagined
they would experience in a Pilates studio!
Raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Summer didn’t move to the Sunshine State until she
was in her early twenties. She attended USF and earned a degree in Marketing and
Advertising. Summer worked for a few different companies, but it wasn’t until she
injured her back (lifting weights, no less) that led her to realize where her true
passion really was….PILATES! Summer quickly felt that she could make a difference
in this field and felt it was right to venture out on her own. Summer is a certified
Pilates instructor and co-owner of Wave Pilates.

Kim is from Tallahassee, FL and attended Florida State University where she earned a bachelor’s
degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. She moved to Tampa, where her
husband is from, in 2007 and has been working as a tax CPA. She found Pilates after finding out
she had 3 bulging disks and was told to take a break from running. She was thrilled to find out
she could stay in shape while taking care of her body at the same time. Kim wanted to help others
with her same running, high intensity workout mentality learn that Pilates is a great exercise
to work into your schedule. Her goals are to give her clients a challenging work out while
showing them how to properly take care of their body.
After living and teaching Pilates in Los Angeles for 13 + years, Jennifer is excited to bring her "West Coast"
style of Pilates to Tampa. Originally from Ohio, she earned her BFA from the University of Cincinnati's College
Conservatory of Music. After college, Jennifer moved to Los Angeles and worked for several years in many
different facets of the TV and film industry. Her growing passion for wellness and health led to a full-time
career switch. Jennifer studied under Power Pilates, Physical Mind Institute and Master Trainer, Ivan Dahl.
Jennifer maintains her certification with the Pilates Method Alliance. Realizing what an amazing effect
Pilates had on her own injuries (herniated disc), she began focusing on the therapeutic side of fitness.
She studied Fitness Therapy with the International Sports Science Association and International Fitness
Professional Association and credits all of this knowledge and work with helping her body get strong enough
to run countless marathons and teach Spin classes. Jennifer utilizes her knowledge, dance background and
years of experience in her goal of teaching clients how proper alignment and movement technique leads to
strength, flexibility and ease of movement, all while delivering a challenging and diverse workout.
